Gluten-Free Restaurants

There are numerous restaurants that provide a special gluten-free menu so eating out with a gluten intolerance doesn't have to be complete torture. Gluten Free Registry is a helpful website that allows you to search for gluten-free friendly restaurants around the States. Chicago has a ton of restaurants that have gluten-free menus, a few pizza places even serve gluten-free pizza.

Yet Another Reason Why I Love The Packers

As you may know, I love the Green Bay Packers and after I stumbled upon this my love grew even more.

Apparently according to PETA...
Lambeau Field is the third most vegetarian-friendly stadium.
It offers a variety of meat-free options including veggie burgers, veggie bratwurst, baked potatoes topped with peppers, onions, and mushrooms. The stadiums premium dining areas have even more options.

It's awesome that they offer alternatives for vegetarians so they can still get the full experience of going to a football game. Hopefully next season I can go to a game and check it out!

Lambeau Field also won best stadium food by Women's Day. Who doesn't love cheese curds?

Hot Tips For Cold Season!

It's that time of the year. It's freezing outside and you're bound to catch a cold.

Here are a few yummy ways to prevent the lousy cold.

Miso Soup: Builds a healthy immune system when eaten frequently. A cup a day keeps the doctor away!

Fresh Pomegranates: One of my favorite fruits. Not only are they fun to eat, they are high in cold-fighting antioxidants and in season now.

Fresh Ginger Tea: Simmer 2-3 quarter-size slices of fresh ginger in 2 cups of boiling water for a delicious cold-weather drink!

That Pizza Just Made Your Brain Shrink

Most likely something you consumed today had trans fats.

Well apparently eating that delicious thing just made your brain shrink.

According to researchers at Oregon Health & Science University found that people whose diets included food high in trans fats were more likely to have brain shrinkage compared to people who followed a healthy low trans fat diet.

What are trans fats you ask? They are listed on ingredient labels as "partially hydrogenated" oils. They are mostly found in packaged foods, fast foods and margarine spreads.

On the other end, people who took vitamins like C,D,E, and B, or Omega- 3 scored higher in memory test, so take your vitamins kids!

Not only limiting eating these foods prevent your brain from shrinking, you will also feel better, and perhaps loose weight.
